"In many ways, transitional dressing is code for how real women dress. This type of dressing is built around season-less wardrobe essentials that can tackle any weather and always look chic. It’s also worth noting that ‘seasons’ as we used to know them might be a thing of the past. I prefer to think in terms of favourites I like to wear year-round: a beautiful trench, a sumptuous sweater, the perfect pair of jeans, a trophy shirt, a great sweatshirt, a sophisticated shirtdress—these are items that are not bound to any season (or locale) and can be adjusted and layered as needed." – Vogue.com
As the cooler months roll in, Staple The Label is taking their Autumn collection to a place where modern silhouettes, ageless fabrics and neutral tones are at the forefront of consideration. The autumn collection places a focus on re-wiring the modern woman’s wardrobe with key pieces that inject an element of fashion that is timeless.
Staple the Label’s head designer, Sara Bolton, gives us her key trends for the season, which are reflected in her new season collection.
Driven by a move towards sustainability and a slow lifestyle – the Purist is focused on tactility, natural fibres, comfort and longevity. Pieces that are classic and neutral that are classic, neutral and timeless.

The Blazer is the most versatile item in a modern woman’s wardrobe. Worn over dresses and midi skirts or back with matching pants – the blazer has moved towards plain colours this season. Elevated neutral shades in luxe fabrications in both oversize double-breasted and single-breasted styles.
The midi skirt is the must-have silhouette for the season. Worn back with knitwear or a tee and blazer – its versatility is endless. Pleated detailing and asymmetric hemlines update this core item.
Outerwear this season is driven by classic shapes in core colours of camel, oatmeal and khaki. The camel coat is the must-have outerwear style – working with both the Scandi and Purist trends. In a luxe wool blend fabrication, the simple yet stylish coat is timeless.
Adding strength to the soft khakis and neutral tones this autumn is golden spice. This 70’s inspired hue can be seen in street style and interior trends. It works back perfectly with black and statement gold jewellery.
Strong, warm, modern.
This staple hue adds a touch of soft masculinity. Sitting within the neutral shades, khaki works back perfectly with black and lighter shades of taupe, cream and camel. The must-have item is the shirtdress in a soft khaki with subtle military detailing. Wear with knee-high boots and simple accessories.
Utilitarian, neutral, staple.
